Our client a textile factory in Thessaloniki (Greece) wishes to hire a Textile Buyer with an in-depth knowledge of lingerie and intimate apparel.
Job Responsibilities:
Identify and establish key fabric trends for the upcoming season covering all fabric bases, componentry, trims for lingerie and intimate apparel.
Actively source and manage the fabric supply base.
Focus on margin, improvement and fabric consolidation across core ranges.
Drive strategic seasonal cross costing projects on core programs.
Actively manage fabric sourcing critical path.
Plan and execute the establishment of new global sourcing routes working with our key vendor partners.
Monitor the execution of the day to day fabric sourcing requests.
Requirements-Qualifications:
Degree holder in Textile Design/Textile Technology preferred, creative flair essential.
At least 5 years’ in fabric sourcing, design and development experience.
Open to a background from within a supplier, sourcing or retail office.
Good level of technical expertise in lingerie, intimates.
Strong trend focus and a keen sense of fashion and the ability to interpret fabric trends.
Understanding of textile processes - spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing. Working directly with mills, agents and manufacturers.
Understanding of print techniques, cost & capabilities.
Confident communication and presentation skills.
Good Management skills, self-motivated and a team player.
Strong personality to work with a multicultural team.
Ability to travel as and when required.
